1943 Mr. N. G. Mathew sets up business in Kattanam, a village in Kerala
1970 Young sons Sam.G.Nilamel and Suresh Mathew Nilamel join business
1980 Early 1980s – Nilamels Export House established
1990 Have to flee Kuwait following Saddam’s invasion. Exports temporarily suspended
1991 Distributorship for HLL in Kerala.
1991 Return to Kuwait. Help countrymen with food supplies.
2008 Plans to Diversify into automobile retailing.
1991 Aug: Nilamels was the first company to provide Indian food products for the stranded expatriates in Saddam Hussain liberated Kuwait. This humanitarian effort was aired by All India Radio and was noted by all the leading newspapers

Awarded the best ethnic food brand by the Canadian Malayalee expatriates.
2003
